Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain, rising about 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level in northeastern Tanzania. It is a free-standing volcanic mountain with three cones—Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Famous for its snow-capped peak near the equator, Kilimanjaro is a popular trekking destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
